What's the Deal?
Every life is made up of the same basic structure, like an HTML sheet laying out the bones and systems
of a person. It is the events of our life and people we meet along the way that add extra styling and
functionality.
I created this site to try and express through code the journey that has led me to my love of programming and web design.

Entrepreneurs are often driven by either the urge to help or the need to succeed, usually some

My name is Ethan Strauss, I'm an endlessly curious and passionate front end developer. Over the
last two decades I have lived and worked across two continents using my understanding of HTML,
CSS, Javascript and more to design and implement solutions to the problems I came across.
As a Programmer:
Since returning to Canada I have opened two successful entreprenuerial ventures
and retooled my skillset to take into account the changes in the Web Development industry. This
included learning Angular, React, SCSS, Webpack, NPM, and more. The last year and a half I've
spent working as a software developer/team lead on an Angular product for Capco, a fintech
consultancy company.

- Researched, designed and implemented a usage based English curriculum
- Strengthened cultural and language skills of 10,000 + students (BA - PHD)
- Pioneered and delivered a cultural consultancy program for numerous State Owned Enterprises including the Agricultural Bank of China, the State Grid Corporation, and more
- Organized and ran extracuricular activities including English Corners, Book/Movie/Music Clubs, and more

- Originally led the mapping team on ensuring product consistency and reliability throughout multiple model structure changes
- Work with colleagues to help us grow and improve together in coding through pair programming, Lunch and Learns and PR Reviews.
- As Team Lead, apply Agile methodology and utilize JIRA to facilitate the end to end flow of tickets and tech stories
- Collaborate with other team leads and project architects to give work estimates, and to ensure changes to the app are feasible and according to the business requirements
